Frequently Asked Questions
Transparent, realistic information to help you manage your vehicle care without false expectations.
1. How often should I wash my car during a UK winter?
Due to corrosive grit salt sprayed on freezing roads, we recommend a thorough water flush of under-arches and sills every 1 to 2 weeks. This prevents salt-spray crusts from holding dampness against vulnerable steel components.
2. Does a ceramic coating guarantee a permanent showroom finish?
No, it does not. Ceramic coatings act as a sacrificially protective glass shield that wears down depending on mileage, storage, and wash techniques. There are no permanent finishes; realistic ceramic durability typically spans 1 to 3 years.
3. Can you remove scratches with machine paint correction?
We can safely diminish light swirls, haze, and shallow clear coat blemishes. However, if a scratch has cut deep enough to penetrate the paint layer (catching your fingernail), machine polishing cannot remove it. In such cases, smart repairs or a respray are required.
4. How do you clean delicate interior automotive leathers?
We use pH-safe leather cleaners applied with soft-bristled horsehair brushes to safely pull oil and dirt from the grain. We then wipe down the leather to restore its original matte finish, avoiding greasy silicone dressings that degrade the hide.
5. Are bad cabin odours completely removable?
We use deep vacuuming and carpet cleaning to significantly reduce sources of bad smell. While most organic odours are successfully minimized, some deeply embedded compounds may require multiple visits or specialist replacement of cabin carpets.
6. Can you clear out pet hair from vehicle carpets?
Yes, using specialized rubber pet hair combs and vacuum attachments, we extract a large majority of embedded hair. Some highly woven factory carpets may hold tiny fiber fragments that cannot be completely extracted without damaging the carpet structure.
7. Can older classic cars with thin paintwork undergo detailing?
Yes, but only after careful digital paint depth readings. Older single-stage paintwork has no clear coat protection, so we use very low-abrasive hand polishes or low-speed dual-action machine passes to conserve the remaining paint layer.
8. How can I submit a fleet or commercial enquiry?
You can use our website enquiry form to submit your details. Simply select 'Small Fleet / Commercial Care' from the menu and outline your vehicle count. We will then design a custom schedule and contact you with more details.
9. Why can't I make an online payment on this site?
Because we believe in tailored vehicle care. Accurate plans depend on a physical assessment of your vehicle’s clear coat and interior condition. Therefore, we operate purely on an enquiry-based model, with payments arranged only after we visually inspect your car.
10. Do you guarantee a specific detailing result?
No, we do not. Every vehicle arrives with a unique history of paint oxidation, previous machine work, and micro-cracking. We promise to apply our standard processes carefully, aiming for the best possible finish while keeping your clear coat safe.
11. Why do you use snow foam instead of a direct sponge wash?
Snow foam acts as a touch-free lubricant that lifts surface sand, dust, and heavy dirt, allowing them to slide off during the rinse. Skipping this stage and using a sponge directly would drag abrasive particles across the paint, causing fine swirls.
12. Can you repair severe stone chips?
No, our focus is cleaning, valeting, detailing, and paint correction. We can apply simple touch-up paint to help prevent moisture from rusting exposed metal, but structural bodywork repairs require specialist body shops.
13. What is the two-bucket washing system?
It is a washing technique where bucket one holds soapy water and bucket two holds clean rinse water. Both have grit guards to trap dirt. We dip the dirty mitt into the rinse bucket first, and then reload it with soap, keeping our cleaning solution clean.
14. How long does a full exterior paint correction take?
This varies depending on paint hardness and defects. Generally, our careful multi-stage machine correction and chemical decontamination require 1 to 2 days of focus in our bay. We will give you a realistic time estimate following our physical inspection.
